Privacy Policy
Short version: this site collects almost nothing, sells nothing, and has no advertising network attached to it. The longer version is below.
What do we collect?
Standard server logs and nothing else that identifies you personally.
Our host records the usual request data for every visit: IP address, browser and operating system, the page requested, referring page and timestamp. That data is used to keep the site up and to see which guides get read. It is not sold, shared or combined with anything else.
Comments are switched off across the site, so there is no comment data. There is no newsletter, no account system and no contact form storing submissions: the contact page uses a plain email address.
Do we use cookies?
No cookies are set by us. The content delivery network in front of the site may set technical cookies needed to serve pages and block abuse.
There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel and no social tracking embedded in these pages. If that changes, this page changes with it and the date at the bottom moves.
Email you send us
Mail to [email protected] is read by one person and kept only while it is useful.
We keep correspondence that turns into a published correction or a guide, because we want a record of where a claim came from. Everything else gets deleted. Photographs you send are never published without asking you first, in writing.
Your requests
Ask and we will tell you what we hold, or delete it.
Write to [email protected] and say what you want. There is no form and no ticket system. Because we hold so little, most of these requests are answered the same week.
Links out of this site go to third parties with their own policies. Texas Parks and Wildlife, university extension services and anyone else we cite are outside our control.
